Needle work on exhibit in Manlius Library

Our needle work display is up in the Manlius Library and it’s lovely. It’s amazing how many items we were able to put in such a small space. All of the Kidney Challenge pieces are included. There are two completed Hidden  Hearts. One of our members allowed us to show off her completed Raspberry Truffle pin cushion…sitting next to a partial completed one and an attempt to do one berry. The kit for the acorn biscornu is there along with two completed  biscornus. There’s quite a variety of really great works from our needles!

You can see exhibit at the Manlius Public Library (1 Arkie Albanese Ave, Manlius, NY) throughout the month of May.

Spring Fling on May 1st

Spring Fling begins at 10 a.m. at the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum at 7010 Lakeport Road, Chitte-
nango. This year, we have two programs that should be great fun.

First of all, our Kidney Challenge for cash prizes where you will be voting for the winners of the competition.

We will also hold our EGA Auction. It promises to be great fun and all of the money raised goes to our Education Fund. So, clean out those closets and tote bags with stitching related items you no longer want or need and donate them to this great cause. Please pre-sort your items before arriving.

Lunch will be provided by The Rusty Rail and served at noon. See details about the Kidney Challenge below. Read the rest of this entry »

The March project is a mystery no longer. Actually, it was a mystery only because it was not designed yet!! Starting in
March, we will be working on a Hardanger Medallion that will include at least four different types of filling stitches. The medallion can be used as part of a sampler or a stand-alone piece, or can be repeated for a larger piece, such as a border for a table runner. Read the rest of this entry »

January chapter meetings project

Both groups will begin the Hidden Hearts project. You will need all four issues of NeedleArts Magazine: December 2008, March 2009, June 2009 and September 2009. Please contact Fran O’Donnell if you do not have all four issues. A materials list is in the magazine as is a Master Chart. Feel free to choose your own colors and either 24 count Congress cloth (8″ x 10″) or 18 count mono canvas (10″ x 12″). Since the list of alternatives for the threads is long, please contact Jill or Bobbi for a printed list that also includes a master chart on the reverse side.
