Needle Arts Show at Baldwinsville Public Library – an exhibit of member’s needle art works displayed every other year
Auction – an auction every other year where members can donate unfinished projects to be sold to others
Outreach Programs – needle related volunteer activities: e.g. knitted or crocheted caps, hand sewn dolls for hospital nurseries and pediatric wards, walker bags and drawstring bags
Billie Award – named for its originator, Hildred “Billie” Stoughton. Members pledge to finish a project (older than 2 years old) by the June dinner. Those who finish receive this award. Those who don’t finish pay a fine of $5 to the treasury.
Show and Share – the part of the meeting where members’ completed projects are displayed and admired
Golden Needle Award – each member who participates in Show and Share fills out a ticket for each completed project. A drawing is held at each meeting and the winner is awarded a golden needle. At the end of the year, one ticket is drawn from all tickets submitted for the entire year and the member’s drawn name receives a free year’s of chapter membership.
Petite Projects – Small projects received yearly by the president of each EGA chapter. The designs and instructions may be copied for use only as a scheduled program. The designers of each of these mini-projects still reserve all rights, but share their designs with other chapter and regional groups.
Educational Opportunity Fund – at each meeting, members are offered a chance to contribute to the educational fund in return for the opportunity to win a prize. Funds are used for chapter educational projects.
Stitch-ins – informal gatherings held outside of normal meeting times where members get together and stitch.
