July evening program….
Chottie’s Plaid is a plaid based on numbers. It is common to use your birthday, phone number, or a date that has meaning for you. You may make this project as an ornament, glass or iPod case, on up to a pillow or chair seat. First decide on what your project is going to be, then the size of the canvas. It is best to leave
3″ as a border. Mount your canvas on stretcher strips. Decide what your plaid will be based on numbers (I used 11, 5, 4, 8). As I did not want to lay threads for this project, I used pearl cottons and one metallic.
You may use any count canvas (or Congress cloth) with threads of your choice. Please have your canvas ready to stitch, bringing your threads and stitching tools with you in July.
